A perfect destination for those who appreciate Japan’s natural beauty and rich history. This tranquil park is dedicated to the memory of Prince Chichibu Yasuhito and Princess Setsuko of the Imperial Family. Adorned with seasonal wildflowers and scenic landscapes, it offers visitors a chance to experience nature and history in harmony. Stroll through its beautiful gardens, explore the memorial hall, or relax at Uguisu-tei, a charming rest area named after a classical Japanese poem.

A Historic Legacy

Bequeathed to Gotemba City and opened as a memorial park in 2003, this site invites visitors to learn about the lives and contributions of Prince Chichibu and Princess Setsuko while wandering through the elegant villa, lush gardens, and cultivated fields.

Nature Through the Seasons

The couple’s deep appreciation for nature is preserved in the park, where endangered species of wildflowers from the Mt.Fuji region have been carefully cultivated using geothermal heat from volcanic rock. Enjoy cherry blossoms in spring, vibrant greenery and blooms in summer, and stunning autumn foliage.

Relax in a Traditional Japanese Setting

At Uguisu-tei, you can savor drinks, sweets, and dishes made with vegetables (miyana) grown in the park’s gardens.

Before you leave, stop by the shop for exclusive souvenirs, Gotemba specialty items, and seasonal goods.
