About HaloDish

HaloDish, developed by eftax, is a friendly service connecting Muslims and Japan. It provides information about halal restaurants, halal food stores, and prayer spaces*, as well as offers online shopping for halal food products for both inbound Muslims tourists and Muslims residing in Japan.

Through feedback from Muslims in Japan, it has been identified that the major challenge is meals. Issues include the limited availability of halal food or restaurants, in addition to the difficulty in collecting information in Japanese. HaloDish addresses these concerns by providing not only the operating hours and location information of halal restaurants, but the availability of halal certification and halal compliant menus. Users can utilize filter functions to exclude specific ingredients from their searches, tailoring the app to their individual preferences. At the HaloDish online shop, we carefully select halal food products that are not only “halal compliant” but also “delicious” and “enjoyable”.

Apart from meal-related concerns, finding prayer spaces is another challenge for Muslims. With few places available for prayer in Japan, searching for them during outings can be hard, however, HaloDish allows users to easily locate nearby prayer spaces.

The global Muslim population is on the rise, constituting approximately a quarter of the world's population. With the motto “HaloDish makes your life easier”, the service aims to be a comprehensive solution to the challenges faced by Muslims in Japan, offering convenience in various aspects of daily life.

*As of January 2024, it is currently available only in Japan with plans to expand its coverage to Thailand as well.
